Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Senator Aubyn Hill has written to Works Minister Robert Morgan to seek intervention in facilitating renovations to an existing roadway at a connecting bridge at the Border Fishing Village in St Elizabeth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senator Hill says this will facilitate an installation of a safe walking pathway for business owners and clients who traverse the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also adds that the intervention will improve environmental management and add to the aesthetics of the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senator Hill also highlighted safety concerns raised by business owners and customers about the roadway from the border gateway entrance to the exit point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He says there needs to be an installation of speed control measures to include speed bumps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This would be done in an effort to reduce vehicle speeds as commuters pass through the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Senator Hill says there have been reports of large trucks frequently travelling at excessive speeds in close proximity to the shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
